Summary
Screenshot – Capture, Annotate & Save to PDF does not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or advertising SDK of any kind built into this extension. Data you create while using the extension — such as entries, notes, settings or history — is stored locally in your own browser using the browser's built-in extension storage, and stays on your device unless you explicitly export it yourself.
What data is stored, and where
All data the extension needs to function is saved locally, on your device, using your browser's Extension Storage API (and, for some extensions, IndexedDB for larger files). This data is:
- Never transmitted to ImageBadger or to any third party
- Never used for advertising or analytics
- Removed automatically if you uninstall the extension or clear your browser's extension data
Permissions this extension requests, and why
- activeTab (Required) — Temporarily access the tab you're currently viewing, only when you interact with the extension (e.g. click the toolbar icon), to read the page's URL or capture what's visible.
- downloads (Required) — Save a file you've created (like a screenshot) to your Downloads folder when you choose to.
- storage (Required) — Save your data (settings, entries, history) locally in your browser using the standard Extension Storage API.
- unlimitedStorage (Required) — Remove the default size limit on local storage, so larger histories or files (like saved PDFs) can be kept on your device.
- sidePanel (Required) — Display the extension in the browser's side panel.
- contextMenus (Required) — Add an item to the right-click menu for quick access to a feature (such as saving selected text).
(Required) — Access webpages you visit so the extension's core feature can run on them (see 'How this extension behaves' below for exactly what this does and does not do).
How this extension behaves
Screenshot captures an image of the currently visible browser tab only when you click the toolbar icon or use the keyboard shortcut — it does not capture automatically or in the background. Captured images are saved to the extension's local storage on your device (and, if you choose to save a copy, to your Downloads folder via the browser's own download feature). Screenshots are never uploaded to any server.
Third-party services
This extension does not connect to any server operated by ImageBadger or any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking service.
Children's privacy
This extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because no data is collected in the first place, there is no personal information of any user, including children, retained by ImageBadger.
Data retention and deletion
Since all data stays in your browser's local storage, you control it directly: clear it from the extension's own Settings/Export screen (where offered), or remove it entirely by uninstalling the extension. ImageBadger has no copy of your data to retain or delete, because none is ever sent to us.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Continued use of the extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
